As a nominee you are believed to be a dynamic individual making an extraordinary contribution to science. It is also your opportunity to inspire the next generation of Great Thinkers.

To be eligible, your nominee(s) should:

  • be living (we want to honor today’s scientific community)
  • work in the academic world and be published
  • be known for the rigor of his or her research
  • produce highly original work
  • make an impact – socially or scientifically
  • inspire others (he or she should possess a 'guru factor')

The categories for nominations are: arts and humanities, life sciences and biomedicine;
natural sciences; social sciences; engineering and information technology.
